Sorry about not writing last week.. there was something wrong with the internet and it was just busy, so I apologize. But we are doing good! It's been a pretty good week, we are moving flats and so we've been sorting out all of that, and then of course we had conference this past weekend! Which was awesome!! We got to watch most of them, the only one we missed was the Sunday afternoon session!
Since we are in a white area we were able to stream it and watch it at the chapel! It's always something special to watch and witness chosen servants of the Lord teach and testify of the Christ and the gospel!
I've realized though the longer I've been on the mission.. my days just fly and they all mesh into one haha I cant even remember a couple days ago.. so trying to remember last week is hard but i do remember that last week we had a holiday called Heritage Day! It was a fun day, everyone was dressed in there cultural clothing and the ward had an activity that turned out really good! We even had a couple of investigators there and they loved it!! :) We are hoping to have a baptism this week! (if she is ready!) We gave her a challenge to find her answer in conference! So crossing our fingers that she was listening with real intent!
The conference was really good though! powerful talks from everyone! It seemed to me that a lot of the talks were basic and fundamental truths that we already know but might take for granted in its simplicity! On the mission I've found that its all about the little things! Wether or not we read the scriptures and pray, go to church, prepare to learn, and are actively progressing in the gospel and living righteous lives! It's all about our action on what we can control!
As missionaries we cannot control the agency of others, but we can control wether they receive our message or not, we cannot control how people get there answers to their life long questions, but we can control and guide them to know where to find those answers! In our lives things come up, stumbling blocks are put in our path, BUT we can choose to push through them and use them as stepping stones to a greater and happier life or we can stand there and complain that the object in our way is too much for us to handle or that its impossible for us to get around! Elder Quinten L. Cook gave a powerful talk on these exact instances and his testimony has risen my sight to something better! Whatever it may be that stood out to us, let us apply them with haste! Giving us the blessings god is intending for us to have! :)
Well for other things, my comp is going home soon so hes excited! The work is hard but worth it! :) We haven't been doing much lately because the weather has been funny! I can see that I'm getting lazy though with the pictures! I'll try my best to be more aware of that haha I think I've just been here for so long that everything is just normal for me and so nothing stands out for me to take notice and take a pic but I'll try!
My package is not here yet, i have no idea where it is.. One of the senior couples were helping me to tract it down but no luck, I'm not sure. So, ya, still nothing.
Please tell Teiva that I love him and I'm proud that he is being baptized!! I wish I could be there for that and be a witness!!
Have a GREAT week!
LOVE,
ELDER FONUA
