My weeks are flying by.. haha I can barely remember them and what we have been doing! But the week was good. We started off the week going on exchanges with the zone leaders.. it turned out to be super fun! I went with Elder Silva in his area called Khayelitsha.. just a huge township in the Capetown.. it was fun because we were listening to Christmas music all day!! haha I'm super excited about Christmas!!
We did have a Thanksgiving dinner as well! It was with the Calver family! We ate a bunch!! haha of course.. but it was good to share what the holiday stood for and what it meant to me! I am grateful for everything I have! We had to share things we were grateful for during the dinner!
We also had a lesson on Thanksgiving and throughout the day I only tried to say prayers ofTthanks.. it was interesting to see and feel the spirit guide my thoughts to help me see the things that, besides the obvious things, there was more that Heavenly Father has given and blessed me with! I am very grateful for the many mini miracles that God gives me everyday! I am truly blessed! We all are!!
We were able to see a bunch of new people this week, and taught some interesting people.. haha we've been meeting a lot of seventh day Adventist.. and they are super stubborn... man.. hahaha especially on the subject of the Sabbath day.. so yes there was some bashing. I think it was an apostle.. I cant remember which one.. but he said "Elders don't get into bible bashes, but when we do, we win.. " haha
A lot of the people we are teaching are accepting our teachings which is a great blessing! And those that just wanna argue.. we try to avoid.. we also met this super cool guy named Joe! We tracted into him and he told us he wasn't in a good space and that he was confused about religion and really could relate to Joseph Smiths confusion.. at that moment I was grateful to be a way for him to find his answers to this ever looming question people have! I confidently testified of the Gods love for us and proclaimed that his true church was restored and on the earth again, there was no more need for a life of confusion and doubt!
I love the gospel, especially for Gods love for us to restore his truths for us today!! We also visited an old lady that has been recently coming back to church. She has had her struggles and when we went to visit her she bore a powerful testimony of the sacrament and how as she was partaking of the bread she said in tears "I felt as if the Savior himself was giving me a hug and saying welcome home.." The spirit filled the room and we all felt the sacrifice that the Savior had made for us. It was a personal and love filled atonement so that we would be able to return home! I can testify of his love for us!
We also had a powerful presentation about the new program that the church is doing with the Christmas season! "25 ways,in 25 days" is a beautiful and inspired way that we can all become a little bit more like the Savior this season!! I encourage you all to do it with your individual families and make it a priority, and watch the spirit fill and guide your life and thoughts toward the Savior!!
I am grateful for Grandma and Grandpa(on both sides) and their love for me, I am grateful for my parents and my family! I love you all so much and pray for you often!!
Have a great week filled with service and love for others!
Love,
