This week has been good, its been sad and also exciting! I had to say goodbye to some really good missionaries and friends this past week! More than half of my companions just went home! The mission is becoming super super young! But in due time I'll see them again! :) For us right now! I do have my greenie.. haha he's doing good.. I didn't realize how the mission has just become apart of me and what I do. Everything is just second nature, and I've realized just in these few days that I have a huge weight on my shoulders teaching and training Elder Shaw the ways of being a missionary! He is from Eagle, Idaho. He just turned 18, so he's still young.. man it's weird to say that I'm even 20.. haha it's insane!
But hes a good Elder already, still has some things to learn but that will come over time! :) I'm excited to train him and even learn from him! :) It's going to be an eventful 3 months! :) We had a good week though, said some goodbyes and saw some awesome people this week that me and Elder Shaw found! Everything right now looks very promising! And I'm excited to teach these families!
The very first night though we went out did some finding and then went to a members home for dinner! In this area they haven't had a new missionary for years, at least as long as I have been on mission.. but the ward is very excited for this new Elder because he's a greenie! Anyways we went to this members home and they acted like they drink beer and wine.. haha it was funny.. but when they pulled out the food their was big tray for everybody to eat from, but not Elder Shaw.. haha they brought out a tray just for him! It was the same meal but with green food coloring in it!! hahaha it was super funny because I wasn't even expecting it! But that's how the night went.. everything that they gave him had something green in it, you could say he got "Greenied" haha but yeah that was fun!
We have a whole bunch of new Elder's in our district now and so its going to be fun getting to know these Elders! :)
I hope all your week goes well!
Love,
ELDER FONUA
