Everything is good here! This week has gone by SO fast, its insane! Of course transfers was a little sad.. said goodbye to some Elders that went home! And yes I do know Elder Mendenhall! He was a good friend and we served around each other a bunch! But he lives in Idaho.. so yeah hopefully I'll get to see him and all the rest of the Elders I've come to know and love later in life! :)
But I think for this week the thing that stood out the most was actually yesterday on Sunday! We spent some time with the primary! Children are so freakin funny!! haha I love children, but we spent some time talking about missionary work of course.. I don't know where they get their thoughts from but some of them are just mind blowing and super deep, and some of course are just hilarious! I see why Christ asked us to "become as children" they are so innocent! But of course their are those who need a slap every once in a while.. hahaha but all in all it was fun! Teaching them put some things into perspective on the gospel for me.. It's so simple and can be understood by even children! I guess in a sense even though we all have different ages and personalities we are all children a loving Heavenly Father! We are still children in his eyes.. I bet just as I was watching and teaching the primary, God does the same with us. We say, act, and do silly things.. some of us sometimes at one point or another need a slap, but we can always be forgiven of the mistakes we make in our life! No one wants to feel alone, sad, or helpless... it's a good thing we have the Atonement to fix all those things! :) We can feel needed, joyous, and together with the help of our Savior! :)
I feel like for me at least children bring the best out of us all! The next time you look at a child, imagine their potential! Who are they going to become?! What can they do?! What is their purpose in life?! To me their potential is unlimited and i know that that's how our heavenly father and Jesus Christ look at us! they have the mind set of the many great things we can do and accomplish in this life and in the next! Let us see ourselves as the Savior see's us! As children with the unlimited potential to succeed in anything and everything we desire in righteousness, and we will definitely be blessed! :)
The weather is getting warmer! and by warmer I mean hot! haha but that's nothing new! We got a whole lot of investigators rolling in and out.. we are just sifting through the wheat as the scriptures would say, but we are finding success is a lot of our areas now. and I'm super excited about that! We also have a new Elder in our district, Elder Ianu, he's from Samoa.. big guy but was born in the U.S and then moved to the islands. So he doesn't have too strong of an accent! We are excited to have him here!! It's going to be fun! :)
Love,
ELDER FONUA
