Sister Emore's baptism on Saturday and she was so happy! She bore testimony about how the gospel has changed her life and how she used to run away from us when we would teach her daughters but how the spirit touched her and made her want to change and come to church.

I'm doing great! this week has been good! we had another baptism yesterday and it was the mom of the first baptism we had. after seeing her daughters being bapized she came to us and told us she wanted us to teach her because she felt really good when she saw the baptism and now we've completed the whole family and was an awesome baptism! sorry i suck at writing.. but yeah i heard about misi and I'm super excited for him! support him please and express my love and the families love for him please! thanks mom! But yeah nothing new here just missionary work and giving service and helping other people! We've found a lot of people this week who are very interested about knowing more about the church! So I'm really excited for this next week! I miss the family and Teiva tell him I love him and miss him also! hope everything is well. I'll keep praying for you and the family! love you! I'm doing good! This weeks been really good, lots of teaching and got a new car. Ive asked mission president if i can try and get a license here and start driving because i told him about the situation and he said the driving system here is too corrupt and he advised that i shouldn't but he did say to try and contact the American embassy and explain to them that I'll be in this country for awhile and i had my permit in America and maybe they can help me out with it..
but yeah I'm still in the same area. i just finished my first transfer but I'm still training and that takes about 2 transfers and then president can either ship me off somewhere else or keep me here for one more transfer but we'll see.. and so this week is the first week of m 2nd transfer. but everything's going well and we got another baptism this week so that's exciting! That's super cool about the v-ball thing! that's awesome! but everything's good! hope everything's good though! today was fun though! we hiked lions head mountain with the whole zone! well hope you have a great week mom love you much!! love, Elder Fonua hey momma!
this week went pretty well! super busy and super awesome investigators we taught! there is this one family we taught and theyre really into the new apostolic church and when we got there the son whos like 19-20 started asking all these questions like how many wives do we have and do you guys still sacrifice and all these other weird questions.. haha but we answered them pretty good! but it was jus an awesome lesson and super powerful and we had some great discussions but anyways super awesome family so all in all a pretty good week! but yeah the weather is cooling down and today it was actually pretty cool cuz it was super cloudy and but misty. the food is great! Africans really love their KFC! lol.. but the menu here for McDonald and other places are different! the ice cream here is definitely better i like it a lot! but awesome a blog! its pretty cool mom! thanks! holy crap sela is so funny! its jus her attitude! but ive been praying for her to have that desire to learn.. so hopefully she'll start learning! but yeah i watched the video! its pretty funny! my comp thinks tongans are weird! lol hope all is well with you and hope you have a good week! love you mom! elder fonua ps. this is my boarding I finally have time to write you! Sister Peterson told me you emailed her haha sorry i didn't get to you earlier.. i was about to email you when we got a phone call from a member saying her husband had just been comfirmed brain dead and she wanted us to go give him a blessing... so yeah... i just got back from that and it went well but very sad for her and her family and its hard to see people lose a loved one.. while we were giving the blessing i felt relieved that her husband wasnt suffering anymore and as i looked around the hospital i felt sad and started to get a little teary eyed.. because i was glad that i know we have a savior and i know that famiies can be together forever and im so so grateful for you and dad and our family and just so blessed to have you as parents! i love you and miss you!
but I'm glad everyone is doing well! Ive emailed Keleni hopefully shes getting them and reading them! I'm pretty sure Taina will get that job at kneaders if she applies! I know I suck at sending pictures and taking them but ill start making sure I take lots of pictures! Here's one of Elder Kupka and me haha but ill start taking pictures... sorry its so short but ill write more next week! love you mom! love, Elder Fonua Everythings going good! teaching lots of people! elder Kupka actually wasn't feeling too well this week he got sick.. but this morning we woke up and the first thing he said to me was that he needed a blessing so i gave him one and after i felt really good and so did he! hes actually doing alot better now and he said that was the first blessing hes gotten here on mission and we both just felt the power of the priesthood! it was awesome! anyways other than that its been a really good week i had m first zone conference and it was on the restoration it was super spiritual and jus taught me ow to teach it better! and we actually found a potential investigator this week his names Kieth and when we taught the restoration you could just see the spirit touching his heart and confirming that everything that we were talking about is true! so yeah that was m week! haha
It makes me happy to hear that the family is doing good! i will definitely take more pictures! but that a cool necklace! thats super cool! but I'm glad everythings going well! till next time!! this week has been awesome! we're teaching so many lessons! we see miricles everyday! im gald everyones doing good! cape town is nice! but i might get my license here but we'll see president merrill is still deciding haha fingers crossed! but the weathers nice its cooling down now. its becoming winter here so its raining a little more and getting a little more windy! went on my first companion exchange with another elder. elder wilhelmsen, hes a pretty cool guy! but the thing that sucked was that his area was a walking area so we had to walk to our appointments.. and of coures the day we're walking was one of the hotter days haha its was about 33 C.. which tranfers to about 90-95 F haha so yeah i was sweating alot.. but we did have a baptism this sunday!! its my first baptism!! hooray!! her name is princess and the smaller one is enow the dad is a less-active and the mom is not a member at all so we're starting to teach her now which will complete there family! its exciting! other than that its been going really well! weve got a couple of people that said they wanted to be baptised but we'll see! but yeah i get a decent amout of emails. some from friends some from family. but yeah ben patch did email me! hes awesome hes only emailed me once but it was cool to hear from him!.. oh and yeah i know im working on no using the home card! but its for buying souveniers and stuff so its alright haha but other than that everything is goin well but i miss you and the family you guys are always in my prayers! love you mom till next monday! love,Elder Fonua oh yeah i almost forgot! we went to a member familys house for family home evening and they fed us but before i could eat any of the really good food they made me eat sheep intestine or as they call it (tripe) haha it was alright jus a weird texture and then when i was done with the regular food they made me eat the bones... now that was gross! she said if i didnt eat it i couldnt eat meat anymore so i jus chewed it and spit it out haha but wait theres still more haha she gave me this drink its called ginger beer.. its jus a soda but its super strong and it burned my throat haha so yeah that was an interesing night! but yeah jus wanted to tell you that lol
oh and when you send a package can you please send me a lava lava please and thank you! love you mom have a good week! :) Im doing good! just always teaching and talking with people! its great! lol me and Elder Kupka always have people to teach its such a blessing. we have this less active family thats been coming back and theyre awesome! the familys name is leRouxe ( la Roos) theyre awesome i love teaching them! haha and then we're teaching this guy who just got out of prison and hes super interested but we'll see haha first time we taught him i didnt know what to think but hes a pretty cool guy! but then there was this mom we taught this we shes an investigator and we taught her the ten commandments for the book of mormon and when we got to the commandment of "honoring thy father and thy mother" she started crying because thats how so wanted her kids to be raised and she just thanked us for confirming with her that she was doing the right things and soing what god wanted her to be living her life! so hopefully all goes well and we can keep teaching her about the gospel! everything we do as missionaries is to help others come unto christ and his teachings! i love south africa and i love missionary work!
haha thats funny yeah elder kupka says hi! and thats awesome! youll soon have some pics to post on there as well! im glad everything is going well! sela is always in my prayers as are you and the whole family! i know ive only been out for like a month but ive learned and felt the power of prayer! and what a simple one can do! i love the power of prayer and now i dont make any decicions without praying and talking with our heavenly father! i love and miss you like crazy!! love, Elder Fonua I got here safely. its funny cuz when i got here the airlines forgot my big suitcase in amsterdam and so i had to wait for like 2 days before i had any other of my church clothes to change into haha so yeah that was a fun couple of first days in south africa. but its great here i got here on like wedsnesday early morning at like 2. but im feeling a lot better now and not so jet lagged as before lol everything is so weird here! like they drive on the opposite sides of the road soo thats weird but South Africa is a beautiful place and the people are crazy but loving! my new companion is Elder Kupka hes awesome! we've taught a lot of people already like at least 3 a day and he says that its petty good! I'm glad everyone is doing well and I'm glad your'e doing family home evening! that makes me happy i cant wait to start teaching more people! well i hope to hear form you soon! love, Elder Fonua
