This week has been great! Lots of teaching and learning, even from my side! This week we found a bunch of new people to teach! Some of them are very promising and some seem not to be so interested but we will keep doing our part and see if they are will to change their hearts!
But one of the people we are teaching is a man named David Ntala from Malawi.. he's super cool and is super interested in the gospel! We are excited for him! We also visited a less active man the other day... he's been less active for years and years but randomly he gives us a call and says that he wants to go to church.. so we try and set him up with a ride but couldn't find one and he wasn't able to come this week, but after church we went to go see him and he expressed to us that he just had this feeling that he needed to go back! He has been through a lot but he sees his life where it is now and he doesn't like it.. he wants to change. Before this I've only seen him maybe once or twice because he never kept appointments and he just didn't want us around.
The latest visit that we just had was filled with who he was and what he desires in his life.. the Lord truly is softening his heart for the gospel to be apart of him again! I would be ungrateful if I didn't thank the Lord in his love and mercy, helping us during this past week.
Elder Shaw has shown great love and dedication for the Lords work and I'm grateful to be his trainer! I got him hooked on chicken feet though!! hahaha we always get some when we go through the township! haha its funny! But other than that we are having a great time!
oh and because I'm district leader I have to give district meetings.. but this Friday the time slipped and we found ourselves late to open the chapel for everyone to get in. So by the time we got there everyone was already waiting and guess who else decided to show up... President Merril!! haha the only time I have been late for the district meeting and i'ts the day President shows up. hahaha it was funny but embarrassing at the same time.. but it was a good meeting! :)
Beside that though our week was good.. we have some people on baptismal dates.. and we hope to add more to that list!! :) But speaking about my Mission President.. did you know that Elder Ballard was my mission presidents, mission president?! haha and because he was.. President Merril always refers back to his mission days under the direction of Elder Ballard!! so that's pretty cool! :)
I hope everything is good back home! Know that I pray for the family often and I miss everyone a lot!
Have a great week!
LOVE,
ELDER FONUA
