This week has been awesome!! A little sad because Elder Heninger is leaving and he's become a really close friend to me! It's sad to see him go, but it's a new chapter in his life he has come to! Speaking about new beginnings.. I'm training!! Whoo.. haha I'm super excited about that his name is Elder Shaw, from Utah.. don't know much yet but I'll have enough time with him to get more details for you haha!
Besides that, our week has been good.. got to see some people this week.. it looks like we need to start with some new investigators soon, some of the ones we have right now aren't progressing like we would like them too. But its okay cause the new missionary will probably change that and want to tract on every door and baptize the world! haha and that is probably what we will end up doing,
Either way I'm excited! I know that for me at least, my trainer had a huge impact on me and my mission! In the way I see the mission and even my life was changed because of his dedication to the work! I only hope that I can be that same influence on him! :)
As for Sister Janine, the lady we baptized last week, we were able to confirm her yesterday! It went very well, as I have taught her throughout this process I have seen her grow spiritually!
I can't describe the feeling you feel as you watch someone grab the gospel and never let go, or when someone uses the Atonement and is healed from the sorrow and heart ache of the world, or even when someone realizes their true and divine potential! That is my favorite thing in the world!! And I've got to say that through out my mission I have really seen people change because of the gospel! In other words they become better versions of themselves through the Saviors Atonement! We see it as missionaries and they see it in themselves! I whole heartedly believe that this glow and empowerment is not only for those who are first receiving the gospel but should be a regular progression for all of Gods children! I've seen it in myself as I have served my mission the best I could, I have been changed! And I hope that I never lose that way and mind set of always wanting to be better!
Like Janine, I've experienced this changed and I'm grateful for the person the gospel has helped me to become! Let us be "Ambitious for Christ!" in all that we do!
Love,
ELDER FONUA
