This week went by super fast! I mean extremely fast! There was a ton of things that happened this week! We started off the week by saying goodbye to our beloved Elder Wall! He has gone home early for school and he left on Tuesday. It was sad to see him go but he lives in Utah so we will probably run into each other again! :) But he left us with only a small knowledge of the area. Elder Heninger and I are both new to the area so it's been a bit of a struggle trying to figure out where people live and where everything is, but it's been fun! We've gotten lost several times, but we've managed to stay afloat! :)
We taught these 2 awesome families this week! The first one was a former investigator but when we went by to check on her she was super happy to see us and when we came back for our appointment this week, she bore a powerful testimony about the Book of Mormon and told us she knows its true!! So yeah, that was a shocker! She wants her husband to follow and be baptized with her. So now its just trying to get the husband to pray about it and come to church! They are potentials that we are excited about!
Then the other investigators we actually tracted into the other week. They invited us back and I knew from the start of the very first lesson that they have been prepared by the Lord! They were confused about the church they we were going to, and they didn't feel as though they were getting the spiritual nourishment that they so desired. And everything that we spoke about just made sense to them! :) It is crazy who and how the Lord prepares his children to receive the gospel! :)
Also this week we were able to see a bunch of less actives! Most of them had the same story though about being offended at church. (which if you ask me is the dumbest excuse ever), but I understand because of the racial aspect of South Africa and the history of it, it can still linger in the hearts of the prideful, both white and black! But I have seen that the color and culture of people have nothing to do with the gospel. The gospel is its own culture, and it is when we humbly understand this principle that we start to understand how to live the gospel culture! :) I will admit that it's a little harder in white areas.. lucky we have a township that we cover as well! :) As for the white side, everyone has a huge gate in front of their home, so it's a little bit more difficult to get into there houses and that's where the members come in. They give us referrals for there white friends! So right now we are just focusing on the ward and trying to get them more unified. We are also trying to get their focus on missionary work!
But the week ended very nicely with church! We had a handful of investigators come to church, which was great! Even though it was pouring rain that morning! I really didn't think that there would be a ton of people at church because of the weather but it was a pleasant surprise to see them come and enjoy there time there! :)
As for the family it's good to hear that they are doing well, I can't wait to see them again! and to see how much they've grown! Thanks for all the love and support! Please tell all the RM's that I love them!
I hope you all have a fantastic week!
Love,
