My week has been great! Definitely better then last week, that's for sure! (sucks to be sick) haha
We have been able to go and see a lot of people and even coordinate with the Relief Society President on our area, so that we could visit the less active sisters in the area! Because of all the single mothers in the area, and in the ward, there was a lot to go through. But we were able to find a lot of people who have disappeared and so we got to put names with some faces and even a lot of peoples addresses to go with them! We will probably knock out the rest of those this week! So I'm excited about that!
Other than that it has been a pretty normal week! Nothing too crazy.. except for another fire in Masi which was huge... and while that was going on, houses were burning... you could see people walking along like nothing was wrong, hahaha its become the norm for fires here in Fish Hoek! So many of them happen a week that its apart of peoples lives. I wouldn't be surprised if people freaked out if there wasn't a fire going on!
We went to a baptism in another area (cause they borrowed baptismal clothes from us) and it was actually really nice!! You know when you just feel good about something?? Yeah that was me during the baptism... I have no relation or even know their names but when they were stepping into that beautiful font.. I about cried... I have no idea why but I just had so much love for the people, even though I didn't even know them! And then I thought of our Heavenly Father who DOES KNOW us individually and personally and I just imagined how much love he has for me and for those being baptized that day! Man it was a great expierence and I loved it!! It only gave me more motivation to work harder to bring more souls unto Christ!
The ward is doing great! And they are feeding us like crazy! haha last week we were fed everyday! It is great to be invited into the homes of members! Even if they didn't feed us or just gave us like a sandwich I just like getting to know them and their families! They are all different and you don't get to really know people until they know you first! The members in this area are awesome! Bring the missionaries into your house they can only bring in joy and happiness!! It helps with member missionary work as well!
Today was great!! We went to Brother Sauls house today to play some sport! (Brother Saul is an English man living in Cape Town who has loads of money, and he has a huge house!! Kinda rare around here) but he invited all of us to his house to play some tennis, pool, ping ping, air hockey, foosball, cricket, badminton and other sports! We had a hay day there! And then we all pitched in and he did a Braai for us! He did bratwurst and burgers it was awesome!! It was a good day!
All is well with me and I did get the stuff that you sent with Spencer's brother! Some other Elders just dropped it off the other day!! Thank you to everyone for all the gifts and the garments!!
Oh and by the way me and Elder Midgley are staying together another transfer so that's going to be fun!! :)
I hope you have a great week!! I love you and pray for you all daily!!
love,
ELDER FONUA
