The week has been good.. not too productive but its been good. A lot of goodbyes from Elder Richards because he is leaving. My new companion is Elder Herrick. I've seen him and kind of talked to him before. He was serving around me when I was in Cape Town, but I don't know a lot about him. But of course that will change in the next week or so, haha but we actually had 1 baptism this week the other young man that was going to be baptized got sick and couldn't come to church because he was in the hospital. We are going to go see him later this week and see whats up.
The baptism that we had was great! It went very smoothly and it was nice. Right after we had a training with the ward and the senior couple about ward missionary work and the use of ward council! it was really nice because our ward mission leader is kind of nowhere to be found. He runs away from us, and when he comes to church and he knows there is baptism he gets mad that he didn't know about it. then when the baptisms are happening he runs away again. We have talked to the Bishop and he agrees that we need a new ward mission leader... haha esp. after the training we had after Sunday! But yeah, so Sunday was probably the highlight of my week!
That is super cool for Sione about his Senior Night, though! I'm proud of him! Thanks for the picture, those banners are cool!
Hows the family and the scripture reading going?? Have you all been trying to implement that into your families?? One thing that I noticed during conference was that they talked about reading scriptures as a family and how much better our lives will go if we focus our lives on Christ!
So for a Christmas package, candy would be great!! Maybe even some jerky!! They don't have any here, they have something called Biltong. It's kind of like jerky but not as nice. I would love a volleyball!! Please!!! That would be a great Christmas present!! I miss it so bad!! Also, maybe the recipe on how to make grandmas rolls... haha I dont know.. but i for reals want that recipe if you can email of send it in the package either way works. And maybe some sour gummy candy like sour punch, or sour patch kids. Ties are always good! I do want to get new dark blue and light tan slacks though.
Thanks for asking about what I want for that package though I know that I'm going to love and appreciate whatever I get!!
Tell the family that I love them and miss them!
Have a great week!!
love,
ELDER FONUA
