Ilinge is sweet! There is no other place I'd rather be than here serving the people in South Africa!
The people of Ilinge are all Xhosa.. and most of them speak it as well (it's the clicking language ) which is really cool!! I'm trying my best to learn it so I can tell when people are making fun of me... haha!
The people are awesome esp. the members! They all want to help in all phases of our work! We always have a fellow-shipper and always have gotten fed by someone! (esp. on Sundays... we get fed a ton!)
It's awesome! The work in the Eastern Cape is a lot different then Western Cape.. the people are a lot poorer and don't have as much. I would say its easier in some and also harder in others. We have a lot of people who want to be baptized they just don't want to change their ways. I was even confronted this week by a drunk guy, yelling at me and speaking Xhosa! Luckily we had our fellow-shipper with us to speak to him and shew him off! Haha, it was fun though.
Everything is going well with me and my companion! We just moved into a nicer boarding and are doing Insanity and trying to eat healthy as well! It's a weird change but we are all determined to get fit and eat better! Especially because I'm getting fat and I need to start doing something! It is a still a 4 man boarding, a lot smaller than our last one but everything works and its 10 times nicer.
So these past 2 weeks there has been a lot of things going on because of transfers and us moving, but this new week should be better and we should be working lots harder this time around.
For studies this morning we went up to the mountains and hiked and then had studies as a District up there as well. Which was nice, it was just cold and windy!
oh.. and about pics, the camera isn't doing so well.. I was wondering if I could maybe buy a new one here or something.. anyways I bore my testimony in church this past week just so that the ward could meet me and know who I am.. and after everyone wanted me to come over this week and visit them! I don't even remember what I said hahahaha, it was just something I thought was funny.
Have a great week!!!
Love,
ELDER FONUA
